Back in 2016, Model United Nations launched for the first time in Pyatigorsk, the capital of North Caucasian Federal District. That year the Secretariat set no goal of going international, yet among the first 130 delegates, there were participants from 20 regions of Russia and 6 foreign countries. We launched three committees in 2 working languages, most of the participants were students specializing in international relations. The Model United Nations was a success, which proved the passion towards it shared among the youth and the relevance of such events in our region.

After the first session of Pyatigorsk International Model UN of 2016, the Secretariat decided to soar to new highs - the number of committees and delegates escalated year to year, the list of languages expanded, out-of-the-box committees took place, and so on. The year 2018 was a hit, for we did what was thought impossible. 9 committees speaking the 5 UN official languages were launched, more than 800 implications processed, 300 people from Russia and 12 other countries involved. The 2020 Pyatigorsk International Model UN was the first to be held online.
Moreover, each PIMUN session is actively supported by experts in international relations and other fields.

In 2022, the Pyatigorsk International Model UN will be held from April 18 to 22 and will be the last in the history of our team. Taking into account requests from modelers and the situation on the world stage, the Secretariat organizes the work of 6 committees in three languages (Russian, English and Arabic), more than 150 delegates will become participants. By tradition, accommodation for nonresident delegates is provided free of charge, and our caring volunteers will help resolve most of the issues of all participants!
